Vinícius was born in Concórdia, in the state of Santa Catarina in the year of 1996. Vinícius received his bachelor degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) working with the synthesis and characterization of novel discotic liquid crystals for application in solar cells.
After that he decided to move to Campinas to study at the Institute of Chemistry of UNICAMP as a master student on the synthesis of new molecules for the treatment of Chagas, where he soon realized that he wanted to work with a more theoretical research. That being so, Vinícius joined the Cormanich group to work with the theoretical aspects of organofluorine compounds, working mainly with hyperconjugation effects.
Outside the lab Vinícius’s mains interests are playing the piano, playing chess and cycling. He also enjoys a good beer or wine surrounded by good friends and good talks.
