Wilton was born in the city of Tombos, in the state of Minas Gerais. He completed his degree in Chemistry at the Federal University of Minas Gerais; and he had the opportunity to work in several areas of chemistry during his undergraduate studies as a scientific initiation student. He worked in the fields of organic synthesis of medicines, teaching assistant in the chemistry analytical laboratory and at the physicochemical analysis of artworks. At the end of his degree he studied Conservation and Restoration of works of art at the Ouro Preto Art Foundation. He worked simultaneously as a chemistry teacher in public high-schools of the State of Minas Gerais.
In March 2020 he began his master’s degree at the Institute of Chemistry of the University of Campinas, under the supervision of Professor Cormanich. His research focuses on conformational analysis of organofluorine compounds.
Outside the lab, Wilton likes to chat with friends, have fun with board games, draw, paint watercolors, read and write literature. Having as one of his goals to publish books of fantastic realism. In addition, Wilton is the father of two beautiful kittens, Salem and Capitu, who means the world for him.
