He received his Bachelor\u2019s degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of Itajub\u00e1 (UNIFEI) in 2023. During his undergraduate studies, he worked in organic synthesis, focusing on the synthesis and characterization of isonicotinic acid derivatives with potential antimycobacterial activity.&nbsp;He obtained his Master\u2019s degree in Chemistry from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in 2026, where his research under the supervision of Prof. Fernando Coelho focused on the reactivity of isatins toward Lawesson\u2019s reagent and the synthesis of thieno[2,3-b]indole&nbsp;derivatives from Morita\u2013Baylis\u2013Hillman adducts.&nbsp;In the same year, Samuel began his PhD in Chemistry at the University of Campinas under the supervision of Prof. Rodrigo A. Cormanich. His doctoral research focuses on computational and experimental studies of&nbsp;organofluorinated&nbsp;compounds, with particular interest in molecular conformation, tautomerism, lipophilicity, and the effects of fluorination on molecular properties.&nbsp;Outside the lab, Samuel enjoys playing video games, spending time with family and friends, and occasionally convincing himself that staring at a running calculation is a form of relaxation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Samuel Cubas Sim\u00e3o was born in S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil, in 2001.
