Congratulations to Luís Felipe for the approaval of his undergrad FAPESP scholarship. Luís Felipe is working on NMR spin spin coupling constants calculations and is carrying out an extensive programme on this subject for organofluorine compounds. We wish all the best and are looking forward for the results of Luís research. #stayhome #staysafe

Nicola and Gabriel have just joined our group. Nicola is just starting a PhD while Gabriel is an undergrad student and will start his Scientific Initiation. We hope we can help both of you to accomplish your goals in the wonderful world of Science along the next few years…
Welcome to João Paulo and Wilton, who are joining Cormanich’s Lab on 2020 for their master degrees! João Paulo comes from the state of Espirito Santo and Wilton from the state of Minas Gerais. João Paulo is going to work on molecular dynamics and Wilton on conformational analysis. We wish all the best in the…
Luís has published his paper about stereoelectronic effects in multivicinal fluoroalkanes in the European Journal of Organic Chemistry and it is available online:https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1002/ejoc.201901780 This is the first theoretical rationalization of the effects that rule this new important fluorinated building block in Organic Chemistry. Congratulations Luís, keep going the good work. We are looking forward for…
Bruno and Vinicius presented the latest results of their work on the 5th School of Computational Chemistry (EQC2019). They also had the opportunity to learn new methods in computational chemistry and enjoy the social programme of the event, by having contact with dozens of research groups from Brazil and from abroad.
Congratulations to Marco, who was awarded a PhD scholarship from FAPESP. Marco did his undergrad scientific initiation in the group for 1.5 years and now will continue his studies in the area of theoretical and experimental mechanistic studies of complex reactions.
Congratulations to Vinicius Port for the new MSc scholarship award from FAPESP! Vinicius joined our group recently and is being very enthusiastic in the many topics of physical organic chemistry. We wish all the best for him and we are looking forward for the new results in the many research projects that Vinicius is currently…
Lucas paper about JFC coupling constants and preferential isomerism in fluorophenol and fluorothiophenol has just been accepted for publication in the Journal of Phyisical Chemistry A. It is already available in the web, check it out! https://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/acs.jpca.9b07970
Our group went to Warsaw (Poland) on August to participate at the 19th European Symposium on Fluorine Chemistry ( https://f2019.uw.edu.pl/index.php) and the PhD students Luís and Lucas and prof. Rodrigo contributed with three different oral talks about our experimental and theoretical calculations on helical fluorinated alkanes and fluorothiols. We would like to thank Wojciech Grochala…
Marco did his first presentation of his undergraduate work about the origins of the internal rotation on peroxides at the 42th Anual Reunion of the Brazilian Chemical Society (http://www.sbq.org.br/42ra/) in Joinville/SC – Brazil. Congratulations and keep on the good work!
