The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) has a special grant for young researchers called “Young Investigator Award“. The Young Investigator Award aims to create job opportunities for highly qualified young researchers, especially in emerging research institutions in the State of São Paulo, Brazil.
Prof. Rodrigo Cormanich’s project was selected and approved, and to celebrate that, the group (actually one of the undergrads missed the event, but we drank his part nevertheless) went to a local bar to eat Brazilian snacks and drink some beer.
With the project’s approval, the group is now accepting PhD candidates. Apart from enjoying the group weekly meetings at local bars, the candidates must have an excellent curriculum, interest towards Organic Chemistry/Physical Organic Chemistry, and must be willing to work hard in order to be eligible for a FAPESP scholarship. Candidates also need to be approved in the Institute of Chemistry (IQ/UNICAMP) admission exam. More information about the admission exam can be found at IQ’s website (http://www.iqm.unicamp.br/en/graduate).
