Congratulations to Bruno for his FAPESP Scholarship approval

FAPESP has recently approved Bruno’s undergraduate research scholarship. In his work, Bruno will be investigating the behavior of a curious class of compounds called hypofluorites.

In our daily lives, we commonly come across a “cousin” of Bruno’s research interest: hypochlorites. Even though they are indeed similar, hypofluorites are far more unstable and have an intriguing reactivity. But one thing for sure, they are really prone to five their fluorine atom and are rather reactive fluorination agents. An example of this class of compounds in the trifluoromethyl hypofluorite.

We wish Bruno good luck in his research, and we are also cheerful that another potentially “explosive” (literally…) project has been accepted! We have already celebrated Bruno’s scholarship with some beer and laughs, as always!
