23rd ISFC

We had the pleasure of attending the 23rd International Symposium on Fluorine Chemistry (23rd ISFC) in the historic Québec City in Canadá! This gathering was nothing short of magnificent. After a delay due to the global pandemic, the joint conference finally took place between July 23 and 28.

The 23rd ISFC showcased a plethora of insightful lectures from esteemed figures in the fluorine chemistry community. While it’s challenging to encapsulate the brilliance of every speaker, a few notable interactions included engaging conversations with luminaries such as Thomas Lectka, Andy Pitts, David O’Hagan, Cormac Murphy and many others. The ambiance of the conference was truly conducive to learning and networking. We also had the privilege to present our own findings.

Professor Rodrigo delved into the intricacies of NMR and theoretical calculations in comprehending the physicochemical properties of organofluorine compounds:

Bruno also shed light on the intriguing pseudo-anomeric effect on fluorocyclohexanes:

We are very glad we could attend such an exciting conference! The entire conference experience was not just about sharing knowledge but also about meeting old colleagues, fostering collaborations, and setting the stage for future research in the exciting world of fluorine chemistry in Brazil.
